Maternal PUFA imbalance and anxiety in offsprings
Not meaning to blame anyone, but this paper provides disturbing insights into how maternal imbalance between omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids intake leads to anxiety in offsprings (in rats).
And that when those offsprings were fed balanced diet, it didn’t fix anxiety despite their brains showing the same balance of n6/n3 PUFA as in control.
Another outcome of maternal imbalance is hyperactivity in female offsprings (but not in male).
I will continue to dig deeper into the topic of phospholipids and membranes.
