Mercury inhibits Nrf2 activity
Below is a review by Henry A. Spiller, which suggests that the main victim of mercury is selenium.
Rethinking mercury: the role of selenium in the pathophysiology of mercury toxicity (R1)
What caught my eye is the statement “MeHg inhibits Nrf2 activity” - I have been collecting all possible causes of Nrf2 dysfunction and this one is new for me (still need to find a proof of that).
If Mercury is the major contributing factor in our case, then some success during treatment with selenium fits this model of disease, but there is no evidence that he has high mercury.
Time to reread everything about mercury poisoning to compare mental symptoms.
