Overactivation of Nrf2 induced tics

I did a stupid thing to validate a hypothesis - I induced Nrf2 overactivation in myself on purpose.

From my own previous experience with MSM/Resveratrol and Sulforaphane (SFN) I noticed that sometimes I get mild tics soon after taking them. 1g MSM was the fastest tics inducer for me.

Today I had a rather bad day with all signs of unusually high oxidative stress again, so I took several doses of Nrf2 activators on purpose, to see whether it will induce tics and it did. It’s quite annoying to have tics every few seconds I must say… Especially when it’s not something you’re used to.

And btw, it didn’t help with the symptoms much.

Combining several similar experiences, I think that Nrf2 overactivation plays a role in tics development. Something goes south, but what exactly? Wish I had a lab.

And yes, this is not how science is done, but could be an interesting hypothesis to validate in a proper setting.
